Its been a while hasn't it?! I know and I'm sorry for being poop.

I will start by saying that I have missed blogging properly so much whilst I've been on the quiet side! But I've been so so tired and busy that its felt like I've had no time to even check Bloglovin, never mind write a post and hold a full blown photo shoot for it.

As you may or may not know, at the start of November I started a full time office job, and I absolutely love it! I was also working every other weekend in my old part time job as a housekeeper at the nursing home where my mum works. So I was only ever getting like, 4 days in total off in the month, and working 12 days straight. It was killing me.

Recently I quit my weekend job, and I also took a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday off, so I had a very lovely, very long weekend! On the Wednesday evening (16th), Tom and I went to see Dynamo live in Leeds, which was quite fab, and then at midnight we watched Star Wars, which was SO GOOD OKAY OMG. A must must must see! I didn't even like Star Wars that much and now its safe to say I have a little obsession going!

Then on the Friday I had my hair and nails done, which was super nice because I had a chunk of hair chopped off and I'm loving having a little change! I also had my disgustingly outgrown acrylics off and had gel on my real nails which was also nice to go back to natural.

And finally, on the Saturday, I got a new tattoo that I had been waiting so long to get and I'm so incredibly pleased with it. I think it will definitely be something I'll show off as much as I can. It has a lot of meaning for me. The sunflower represents my mum, because they're her favourite flower for many reasons that now as an adult I admire her for, and to me she is a beautiful sunflower. The forget-me-nots represent my granddad and my sister, as they were his favourite flower. And you can't really see but on the outsides there are a few pieces of lavender, this is to represent my nan, because whenever I see or smell lavender, I think of her, no one even knows why but for me it's just her. My mum is also getting a matching, smaller version and the idea is that she is the sunflower, and my sister and I are the forget-me-nots.

Hopefully I'll get back in to the swing of things now that Christmas is out of the way! In the meantime, I hope you guys are all well and enjoying some rest time over Christmas, let me know in the comments what you've been getting up to, I love to know!

This post is super last minute, I'm so unorganised at the moment with working my full time job, my old part time job every other weekend, and Christmas on the way as well! (Which loosely translates as, I know the photo is shit.)

I don't usually do monthly favourites, but this month I seem to have been enjoying quite a few new products, and I thought best to share with you all. I went on such a splurge this month, and bought loads of things that I've been wanting for a while but haven't had the money to get my hands on them! (Definitely one of the upsides to my new full-time job) One of the things I'd been absolutely DESPERATE to try was Hairfinity, oh my goodness as a fine haired gal I can't tell you all how much it excites me that there could be a cure, and I won't believe or disbelieve until I've given it a go myself. So defo stay tuned for that! I bought a 2 month supply so expect around Jan/Feb time on that one!

Anyway, back to business.

1. Nuxe Reve de Miel
My first favourite of the month is a newbie for me. It's the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm. I'd seen posts about this, and at such a staggering price for just lip balm, I was sure it must work some sort of miracle. Well. Let me tell you. This is probably the most luxurious product I have graced my face with. I feel like a princess when I use this. When applying it you can so tell its a higher end product, as lip balms go, it lasts a really long time and it doesn't feel slimey or slippery at all, it just gives a healthy and smooth feeling. It also smells like refreshers which is a bonus. The packaging is also beautiful, it comes in a matte glass pot and, ah just everything about it feels very high end.



2. Revlon - Colour Stay
Next up is an oldie but a goodie, Revlon Colour Stay, for oily to combination skin might I add. I emphasise that because recently I just cannot stand Wake Me Up. It's annoying me and it doesn't get on so well with my new skincare routine using the Soap & Glory products I purchased recently. My face honestly feels like an oil-slick by lunchtime when I wear Wake Me Up. So I decided to go back to my trusty Revlon, and of course, it did not fail me. Plus it doesn't oxidise HALF as much as Wake Me Up does, which is adds many more brownie points.


3. Beauty Blender - Solid Cleanser
The Beauty Blender Solid Cleanser is next! I purchased this after absolutely loving the miniature version of it that I received when I originally bought the Beauty Blender itself! Its so much easier to use when it's in the pot, and it also came with a pink scrubber type thing which I assume is to help remove more stubborn areas of clogged makeup.


4. Rimmel - The Only One Lipstick
After seeing many others raving about Rimmel's new lipstick range, I COULD NOT resist grabbing one of these The Only One lipsticks. And I really can see how they'd be the only one you need. They're moisturising, super pigmented, and fairly long lasting! I decided on Naughty Nude, as I'm not great at pulling off a red lip, and pink is not my colour at all. I love this shade and the formula is just so fab.



5. Maybelline - Lash Sensational
I know I wrote that post ages ago where I moaned about Lash Sensational, but I finally bought the regular version instead of waterproof and omg I'm so on the band wagon now. Don't hate me for hating it at first but this one is so much better! I don't know what it is but its just like, everything you'd want in a mascara, I just love it ten times more because when I'm putting it on in the morning I don't have to worry about trying to get it off when I get home from work!


Soap & Glory - Beauty Sleep Accelerator
And last but by no means least, Soap & Glory's Beauty Sleep Accelerator. You can read my more in-depth thoughts on this product here in my Soap & Glory haul, but this is basically just a really lovely, thick product that feels super hydrating and smells so amazing!

No Clogs Allowed Super Self-Heating Deep Pore Detox Mask
Let me start off by saying that this definitely does what it says on the tin. Super Self Heating goes without saying! This mask becomes so warm when you first apply it, its such a strange sensation! I've heard some good things about this mask, and as someone whose pores are horrifically gigantic and get clogged far more often than I'd like, this was something I had to try. For some reason I was apprehensive, however I was pleasantly surprised! My pores were so much cleaner, and whilst Biore strips are extremely satisfying, this did a pretty good job in comparison!



Scrub Your Nose In It Special Pore Refining Formula Facial Scrub
This scrub looks and smells like toothpaste when you apply it, with its intense minty scent, and toothpaste resembling packaging, it may actually be mistaken for toothpaste by a poor drunken soul. It feels very grainy, with tiny beads, it almost feels like it has sand in it to exfoliate. I must admit that I didn't find anything outstanding about this in comparison to any other exfoliating scrub. It did the job and left my face feeling clean and smooth.



The Fab Pore Daily Micro Smoothing Moisture Lotion
As suggested, I used a moisturiser after using the pore scrub. When reading the info for this product on the website, I got the impression that it would work in a similar way to a primer, claiming to decrease pore size and leave a matte finish to the skin. (Something that definitely drew me in!) It also stated that it had oil-controlling properties which also got me super excited! It saddens me to say that this was not the case. *cry cry* This moisturiser doesn't leave my skin looking matte, and my skin actually felt more oily throughout the day. I was so disappointed in this product, because I so wanted to love it. Who knows, maybe I'll get on with it one day.


Beauty Sleep Accelerator Night & Flight Moisture Miracle
I'd never tried a night cream before, so when I came across this Soap & Glory version during my shopping spree I couldn't resist! I can't really compare this to anything, but I can say that I love it! Its quite thick and creamy, and has a gorgeous fresh scent. I think this would definitely be great for a long haul flight! I just love the smell of this, and love the fresh feeling when I apply it!

It's been a while hasn't it? Pls dont hate. To cut a long story short, I started my new full time job three weeks ago, and after I ran out of pre-taken photos for pre-written posts, I lost track of everything. Sigh. But here I am, I'm still alive and completely loving my job.



So anyway, onto the actual post. I threw this list together a while ago after I saw the lovely Corrie  over at dizzybrunette3 do a post similar.


The smaller things in life; they're things we maybe take for granted or forget to appreciate, but they seem to make the day a little better when they come about!

Here are some little things that make me smile!

Eating a Sunday dinner and discovering more meat underneath your mash.

I was definitely not one of the blessed ones in this life that have luxurious, thick hair. It's fine, and theres not a lot of it. A hideous combination really. It just hangs, and as a child that was yet to grow into their ears, my hair would just hang limply with them poking out horribly.

The constant longing for thick hair. It never goes away.

"You can't do anything with thick hair, I wish mine was like yours!" NO. YOU. DON'T.

Alpecin Caffeine Shampoo Hair Growth for Men, yes pls. I'll try anything.

"You're lucky, at least you don't need like 3 boxes of hair dye!" I really wouldn't mind spending an extra £14 on hair dye if I was putting it on luscious, thick hair.

A wig would be too obvious, wouldn't it?

Spending the majority of your wages on extensions that never work out because your hair is so thin that you can see the clips through it. Possibly one of my biggest pet hates.

Looking at hairstyles on pinterest and thinking they're achievable until you actually try it with all 9 strands of your hair.

When people blessed with thick hair are just not grateful for it at all.

Thinking its not that bad until you see a picture of yourself from behind.

Hairfinity? Hair Skin Nails? Biotin? 

"Get it cut shorter in a bob, it will make it look thicker!" *gets a bob* instant regret :)))

Always being torn between keeping a blunt cut, or leaving it alone when it finally starts getting longer.

"Your curls hold for so long, mines just heavy and they fall out straight away", THICK HAIR LOOKS NICE NO MATTER WHAT THOUGH!

Believe me I have tried almost everything. The solution I have come to, get a weave. It's no miracle cure, but its a quick fix. The hair that I've had in braids is so much thicker now, its just the pieces that aren't weaved that get damaged. Maybe I'll do a post all about my weave and how I find it with my hair type? Idk, I might if people show an interest! When I finally have a break from my weave I'm going to try Rachel Thev's advice which you an find here. if you want to check it out.
